A multimedia projector is a device that takes a video signal, from a computer or video device, and projects the corrensponding image on a wall or a projection screen for large image viewing, using a lens system.

LCD Projector
An LCD Projector is a type of multimedia projector that projects images by sending light from a halogen lamp through three LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) panels -- one each for the RGB (red, green, and blue) components of the video signal.

DLP Projector
Developed by Texas Instruments, DLP (Digital Light Processing) Projector uses one, two, or three microfabricated light valves called digital micromirror devices (DMDs). The single- and double-DMD versions use rotating color wheels in time with the mirror refreshes to modulate color.
